BA Honours in Early Childhood and Education, NPQEYL (Early Years Leadership) & Adult and Paediatric first aid trained

I have been the Manager at Acorn Childcare Centre since May 2019 and bring over 35 years of experience in the childcare sector. My career has included working in nurseries in London and Leeds, as well as serving as an Early Years and Teaching Assistant lecturer and assessor at Peterborough College.

I am deeply passionate about early childhood education and committed to giving every child the very best start in life. Over the past seven years, I have continued my own professional development by completing a degree in Childhood Studies and Education and achieving the NPQEYL (Early Years Leadership). I am well known for encouraging and supporting staff to engage in their own professional learning, believing that confident, skilled practitioners create the best outcomes for children.

Since joining Acorn, I have introduced new curriculum initiatives that place children’s interests at the heart of learning, strengthened safeguarding procedures, and developed a supportive and collaborative team culture where staff feel valued and children can truly thrive. Building strong, trusting relationships with families is also central to my approach, ensuring every child feels happy, safe, and inspired to learn.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family exploring in our camper van, going on long walks, and running with our little dog.
