Hello and a warm welcome to Acorn Childcare Centre! I’m Lorna, the Manager here, and I’m delighted to introduce you to our wonderful nursery community.

At Acorn, we aim to provide the very best childcare possible for local families. Our dedicated and nurturing team offers a caring, safe, and stimulating environment where children can grow, explore, and flourish—from our youngest babies right through to our confident pre-schoolers preparing for their first day at school.

We offer full day care for children from six weeks up to five years old. We also provide funded childcare for eligible families from 9 months old until children leave us to start school. We know that government funding can sometimes feel a little confusing, so please don’t hesitate to ask—we’re always happy to guide you through it.

Our purpose-built rooms are thoughtfully designed around the needs of each age group, and all have easy access to our outdoor play areas. Being based within the grounds of Malcolm Sargent Primary School gives us a truly unique advantage. Not only do we enjoy the extensive school facilities, but we also have strong links that help ensure a smooth, confident transition into primary school.

We’re proud to work closely with the school, offering excellent transition support as well as wrap-around care for school-aged children during term time and the school holidays.
